A web site can be a simple information page, or it can be the communication hub of an organisation. This session will provide the software tools and show how to produce your own web site. Most ISP accounts allocate at least 5MB of free server space for hosting a simple site ... Bring the ftp address of your ISP free web space, and you can produce and upload your first web site. Other hosting options such as www.freeservers.com or your own e-smith web server will be briefly outlined.

I can start on how to make a web page, a web site, and the basic codes. This is not limited to Internet connected sites but can be very useful for organising information on your own computer.
I can show how to add graphics, tables, frames, etc.  and how to add features like rollovers and Javascript functions.

The Dorrigo Experience
Those who want and have time, can participate in a scenic drve up to the Dorrigo Plateau. We will have opportunity to visit Dorrigo Medical Centre and get a live demonstration of
  • a mixed thin and thick client Linux system running Medibase and Pracsoft via Win4Lin
  • a robust & reliable fully automatized backup system
  • a whole clinic supported by a single UPS able to survive a full day power outage!
  • a secure wireless link (VPN) with the local hospital across the whole town
  • a few glimpses at working parts o gnumed
After this, Dorrigo offers a superb gourmet restaurant for dinner ("Misty's") or alternatively a barbeque on Horst's property, and a relaxed walk through magnificent rainforst before driving back home.
