The 5120 Conference
The 5120 Conference was held in Darwin at the Crowne on 7th, 8th and 9th June 2008. The conference organiser was Nigel Farrier. Nigel set a precedent for these conferences by arranging a "pre-conference conference". This was held on the Ghan and was attended by half of the delegates. It included discussions on most of the conference subjects.
Invited speakers for the conference included Dr Leonie Katekar (CEO of the Top End Division), who spoke on the eHealth programs currently being undertaken by her Division, and Dr Bart Currie (of the NT Clinical School, Royal Darwin Hospital, and Menzies School of Health Research), who spoke on infections, bites and stings relevant to the Northern Territory.
Some of the talks are available below. Note they have been reduced in size to spped file transfer. Power Point presentations have been reduced to text, which spoils the presentation but preserves bandwidth.
